Our most-booked Sahara route, extended one-way into Fes instead of looping back to Marrakech: airport pick-up and a night in Marrakech, the High Atlas passes and Berber valleys, a camel trek and overnight desert camp at Merzouga, then a scenic drive north to two nights in Fes with a full day of guided medina sightseeing.
Transport, driver-guide, and accommodation are shared across the group, which keeps the per-person cost far below a private itinerary covering the same route.
Pick-up from Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) and transfer to your hostel in the medina. The rest of the day is free to explore Jemaa el-Fnaa square and the surrounding souks — this is also your chance to meet the rest of the group before departure the next morning.
Early morning group departure from the hostel. Cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass, stop at the Ait Benhaddou kasbah (a UNESCO World Heritage site), and continue through the Valley of Roses to an overnight stay in the Dades Gorges.
Drive on via Tinghir and Erfoud to Merzouga, gateway to the Sahara. Late afternoon camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes, arriving at your desert camp in time for sunset — dinner around the fire, live music, and a night under the stars.
Optional sunrise over the dunes before camels carry the group back to Merzouga. Full day's drive north via Er-Rachidia, Midelt and the Middle Atlas cedar forests to Fes. Overnight in Riad Fez Mahal or La Perle de la Medina.
Full guided day through the Fes el-Bali medina — the Chouara tanneries, the souks, and the Bou Inania Madrasa. Overnight in the same Fes riad.
Free morning depending on flight time, then transfer from your Fes riad to Fes-Saïss Airport (FEZ) for departure. Trip ends.
